I was proud to be the Prairie Spirit School Division liason for the SSBL. Saskatchewan Teachers Federation - 2014 I am working with other professionals from across Saskatchewan to revise the current new teachers handbook as well as the new teachers handbook for administrators. Ministry of Education - 2006 - 2011 I worked with the Ministry of Education helping develop and score provincial math assessments (AFL program). I served as a scoring leader for two sessions, leading a group of 10 item scorers. |

I have continued to be an active learner via social media, and have facilitated numerous online learning opportunities via Twitter. As many other learning leaders do, I utilize #EdChat to guide learners to our discussion thread where they can engage to a level that is comfortable for them. I have been part of a PSSD committee looking at the evolution of our classroom environments. The committee considers elements of effective learning environments as contained in current research and looks to marry those with provincial safety standards. The Innovator's Mindset - 2016
I have created a book club that has been designed to bring together innovative educators from our school division. The group consists of two superintendents, two principals, two vice-principals (including myself), and two teachers. The focus of the group is to discuss the ideas contained within The Innovator's Mindset by George Couros. Embedding Formative Assessment - 2016
I am part of a group of administrators who are taking part in a book study looking at the ideas presented in Dylan Wiliam's book, Embedding Formative Assessment: Practical Techniques for K-12 Classrooms. As part of this book study I am lending my voice to the discussion on learning intentions, effective discussions, feedback, and activation of student knowledge to move learning forward. Assessment Residency - 2014
I am part of an assessment residency team that has been involved with piloting a new grading and reporting system in Prairie Spirit School Division (PSSD). As a part of this I am currently developing a website for members of this team to share artifacts and reflections. Music Program - 2014 Recently PSSD embarked on a journey to change the way students are exposed to music during their school experience. At Hepburn School we are piloting the new music program. Administrator's Planning Team - 2010 - 2013 During my tenure on the administrative planning team (APT) I was part of a group that planned regular administrator meetings in PSSD. Part of my role was to chair monthly administrator meetings. Safe Schools Survey - 2009 During my time at Langham Elementary School I developed a safe schools survey tailored to elementary students. The results were used to implement changes at the school level. I lead a professional development session for my fellow administrators explaining the process and results. |
